Michael is a qualified Software Engineer from the early 1990s. His principal work is as a financial specialist in escrow services, acting as a trusted and neutral harbour to hold money and settle international trade transactions. His principal talents include creative writing, design, and technology innovation.
Notable highlights in a varied career include:-
- Worked for two years on sustainability
in urban regeneration in his home town.
- Spent two years participating in the design and development of a secure online escrow
financial trading system, spending the second year at Manchester University,
managing the research and development teams as board-level Technical
Director and business manager.
- Founded Sterling-Bond Escrow Services to continue independent development
of a professional escrow service for international projects and traders,
to protect against trading risk, fraud, etc.
- Submitted a proposal to the UK and US governments in 2003 for the
securitisation of Iraqi oil reserves, to form a humanitarian fund and
undertake a managed programme of restoration for the core infrastructure
of the Iraq economy.
- In 2007 Consulted with light jet aircraft start-up companies, advising
on their business models, enhancing their cashflow options and reducing
investor and customer risk to nil.
- Through 2009 to 2010 campaigned on behalf of the British aerospace industry to: (a) launch a rescue plan for Woodford Aerodrome factory in Cheshire to save several hundred jobs and create several thousand new ones, (b) offered the UK Ministry of Defence a superior alternative replacement aircraft for the American Chinook. No result, no interest from other parties.
- 2011/2012 Focussing on British automotive industry, conceiving of a new luxury super-sports car and suggesting an alternative concept for a future Land Rover Defender.
- 2012 Launching: new concepts in architecture for wealthy and celebrity clients with full cash refunds on all acquisitions; plans for a new ultralight sports aircraft; and designs for new luxury superyachts to be undertaken over the next couple of years.
- Part-time inventor/designer: (1) Invented the Clearway automatic home fire
extinguisher system to prevent deaths in the home from smoke and improve
chances of escape from fire in buildings, (2) Invented an environmentally
friendlier plate for computer laptop support arms, reducing a previous
design from eleven components to two, and production and assembly processes
from six to one, (3) invented new board game for children based on the ancient game "Snakes & Ladders", (4) designed new luxury furniture: The Library Stacking Case, (5) developed new architecture for luxury homes to be available for acquisition in 2012 onwards.
